easyJet, the UK’s biggest commercial air fare, celebrated its new Sharm el-Sheikh route with a camel meet and greet at check-in on the 25th February.
Hugh Aitken, easyJet’s UK Commercial Manager, commented: “There isn’t a better way to celebrate the launch of our new Sharm el-Sheikh route than by evoking the spirit of Egypt and bringing a camel into the airport for all to see.”
Sharm-el Sheikh is one of 3 new easyJet routes to take-off from London Stansted Airport this year.
The airline has already started flying to Marrakech in Morocco and Sofia in Bulgaria as one element of easyJet’s broadened summer 2013 timetable which will see 65,000 inexpensive seats to these locations offered from London Stansted Airport per year.
The three new routes are proving popular with travellers given more than 1,000 {tourists|holidaymakers} travelled to the new locations last week alone.
Mr Aitken added: “We’re thrilled to be able to offer our passengers the chance to fly to Sharm el-Sheikh and Marrakech as they offer year-round sun for the first time from London Stansted Airport.
“We’re fully committed to making travel to more varied destinations, further away from home, easy and affordable, at the best value and best availability for our passengers and I know travellers will enjoy exploring these three new holiday hot-spots.”
